2010 School Composition - Man Falling Off A Building

"Jane, can you come ove to my place? I've a new doll house!" Sabrina, my friend urged. After agreeing, I put down the receiver. Rolling my eyes, I felt indignant to think that the last two words she said were 'Hurry Up'!

As I hurried to Sabrinas house, a shrill cry interrupted my thoughts. A block away, a middled-aged woman was pointing upwards. Following her gaze, I saw a figure sitting on the windowsill. Stunned, I hurried to the block and stopped short! The figure was scrawny clad in an over-sized T-shirt which hung limply on his shoulders. he was gripping grilles. He would fall! Feelings of anxiety engulfed me. Meanwhile the boy wobbled. He seemed dazed as he stared blankly into space. My stomach lurched when I found out he was perching on the 8th flooer! Just then, the police arrived. The woman must have called the police! I heaved a sigh of relief. then, a bag of pills plummeted down and landed on the ground with a soft thud. The police took it away for inspection. I then spotted the boy spread his arms like an eagle spreading its wings. To my horro, he jumped! Luckily, the police had prepared an air mattress. As he jumped, two bamboo poles on the fourth floor broke his fall. however, one snapped. He tumbled down at high speed. My hand automatically went to cover my eyes. Then, I heard silence. i uncovered my eyes. Miracle of miracles! the guy was a drunk anc had landed heavily. however, he was not dead. He writhed in pain when paramedics heaved him into the ambulance.

As I ran to Sabrina's house, I kept wondering what would she would say to me. When i reached he place, she demanded, "where were you?" I shtugged with a faint smile and went in.
